Post by kiranchinnu » Wed Mar 06, 2013 10:24 pm

Dear all,

Recently I have surrendered the Indian passport of my baby at vfs office , london and HCI today send the surrender certificate and cancelled passport to me. My Question is :

1.what should I do with that cancelled passport ? Can I destroy it as this is no use now?

Thanks in advance.

Once cancelled the passport is nothing more than bunch of papers.. if i would you I would destroy it in the interest of identity unless of course you do not want to keep it as Souvenir.

Your question is specific to minor's passport. Well even though it has been
cancelled, it has some value in regards to identity as being Indian origin.

When last time in India advocate and bank, both used my cancelled Indian passport as proof of my being Indian origin.

So in my opinion it may come handy in future, if you keep it.

Regards.

Hi

I have a question please.

Do they keep the original Naturalisation certificate and the Uk passport or do they return immediately after inspection?

Regards
