I had my ILR personal appearance on the 4th of March at Cardiff and received the biometric card on the 7th of march.
The ILR card is for 10 yrs for myself and wife and 5 years for my daughter (who is 3)
Here is my case
=========================
WP approved - Feb 2008
Entry to UK - Mar 2008
Switch to Tier1 - April 2010
ILR PEO interview - 4 March 2013
It was a straight forward case. One worry I had was about my life in the uk certificate. My middle name was missing from it.
Here are the documents I carried
SET(O) + photographs(2 each) in an envolope and passports
1. Salary slips for 1 year
2. Letter from employer stating my current basic salary and that I worked with them from 2008 March
3. P60 ( 2009,2010,2011,2012)
4. Bank slips for 1 year
5. Original WP
6. Tier 1 Approval letter
7. Life in the UK (myself and wife)
8. Marriage certificate
9. Tier 1 point calculation (from UKBA website)
10. Birth certificate (for my daughter)
cohabitation documents
Lot of them - basically I tried to put one document/2 months/person
Type of documents used for cohabitation:
Rental agreement (joint)
bank statements (individual)
council tax ( joint)
utility bills ( individual)
poll cards (individual)
nursery bills (joint)
I had an index document of all cohabitation documents in a tabular format
like this:
Month | MyName | MyWivesName | Joint
=======================================
April 2010 | Bank stmt | |
------------------------------------------------------
May 2010 | | utility bill |
-------------------------------------------------------------
Organising the documents
=======================
I made three bundles
bundle 1: All my documents and life in the uk
bundle 2 : all cohabitation documents
bundle 3: photocopy of all documents in bundles 1& 2 + photocopy of all passports (old and current)
Each of the documents had a post-it explaining what it is. (even for photo copies)
In the bank statement, the salary payments were highlighted with a marker
Experience at PEO
1. Reached at 9.30. Appointment was at 10
2. Waited for 30 minutes and was then called to a counter
3. He asked me some basic questions and asked for all the documents
4. I gave them bundle by bundle and explained what each bundle is
He looked pleased and asked me to go for biometric. He was professional and serious but not unfriendly or hostile.
5. Waited for 20 minutes more when the lady came to take our biomentric details
6. After she asked me for the phone number and said they will call when it is done
I got a call at 12 asking to meet at 12.30. I was there at 12.30 and waited for 15 minutes
Another lady (who was very friendly) came and called us to the counter again. She said our application is approved and gave a letter stating biometric cards will be sent in 7 working days.
She returned all original documents including passport and gave a feed back form.
I asked about the payment (as they had not asked for the card). She said it is already done and gave the receipt for that
Finally I asked her whether we can know the life in the uk test scores. She said she will ask the case worker and came back and told both of us have the same scores - 22
We received the ILR cards 3 days later.
I had posted numerous questions on this site and thanks for every one who answered. It really helped.
One tip: I had to take numerous printouts/photocopies. Hence it might be hugely cost beneficial to buy a printer/scanner of your own.
