I have been a regular visitor to this forum and have gained lot of information. To put my mind to rest, I want to know when is the earliest I can apply for ILR.
WP Stamped date: 11/08/2008 until 11/08/2010
First entry date: 30/08/2008
Visa extended to Tier 2 (General): Valid: 02/08/2010 until 22/07/2011
Changed jobs: Tier 2 (General): Valid: 11/02/2011 until 03/01/2014
As per my calculations the earliest I can apply for ILR is 02/08/2013 (28 days before first entry date). I have not travelled abroad for more than 180 days in the past 5 years. All pay slips and HMRC P60s and P45s available.
Appreciate your time and feedback.
thanks

I don't seem to find the question to what exactly what you are looking for?
However, you are eligible to apply 28 days before the WP stamp date I.e 11/08/13 as you entered within 90 days from the date of your WP stamp date

Gagan,
Thanks for reply. I want to know the earliest date I can apply for ILR.
Bear in mind that I entered on WP and my current visa is valid until 03/01/2014. Can I still apply 28 days before the Visa stamp date ?

Also the absences should be less 180 days or less in each of the consecutive years before application and not 180 days in total as seem to be your understanding.
Thanks!

You will need an Employer's short letter too, explaining and authorizing your absences from UK .

Thank you all for the responses. I could not find any references where it says that I can apply 28 days before the 5th anniversary of visa issuance for a work permit holder.
Can someone please clarify this for me? Once again I appreciate your time and will be grateful for your answers.
Thank you.

It is very unfortunate that you can't find that info. It is stated pretty much everywhere on UKBA's website under ILR.
Anyways if all members are suggesting that 28 day rule exists, you should believe them

Just re-read the FAQs and found the link to reference. Thanks again for your time.
I do not have any letters from the previous employer about visits back home, not sure if they will provide letters. What documentation should I provide for the previous employer?

See if you find payslips for that period plus p60's and obviously showing your entry an exit dates on your passport during your previous WP employment duration showing that they were paid annual leave.
