Sponsoring mother. Opinion requested please..

Post by khanb » Sat Mar 09, 2013 4:30 pm

Hi,

I have gone through ukba web site regarding sponsoring elder parents. My mother is 51 yrs old and in recent years my family have moved out of country due to the severe unrest.

I am planning to sponsor my mother to come and live with me here in Britain.

If she comes to visit me here on 6 months visit visa, can i then submit her settlement application here in UK without her going back?

I am capable of sponsoring her personally and financially.

Your opinions are much appreciated.

Regards
(This above belong to a friend who needs opinion in his situation)

No - she would have to return unless of some highly unexpected circumstances.

Your friend should read the UKBA website on bringing an adult dependant relative. The rules are not simply 'can support her'.

Note: This is ALL assuming your friend is actually settled here in the UK (i.e. has ILR or citizenship)
