Switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2 Dependant

Post by ataman » Tue Mar 12, 2013 6:17 pm

Me and my girlfriend came to UK 1.5 years ago with Tier 4 visa and lived in the same place. She wasnt my dependant with her Tier 4 visa.

I applied for Tier 2 visa and my partner applied at the same time as me as my dependant.

I got rejected because of a salary issue and thinking to appeal. When i talked to someone, he told me that my partner should go to her country and apply as my dependant after I get my visa.

Does it sound right? Cant she appeal at the same time as me?

Thanks!

your received correct advice. one can't switch in country from an independant category leave to remain to dependant category ( and vice versa).

moreover, unmarried couples need to live together in a relationship akin to marriage, for atleast 2 years, to be eligible for "dependant" application.

Has your girlfriend received a decision on her application?
