Bringing mum to UK

My mother has been back and forth from India and UK for the last 6 years on visitor's visa. She is 64 and financially independent (reasonably wealthy).

I am a single parent with a small child, both UK citizens with no family in the UK. I work full time in a permanent job with decent annual income and a home owner.

I realise that the immigration rules have recently (Sept 12) regarding bringing family to live here with some kind of sponsorship guarantee.

Can anyone please give me some information regarding this? I am keen to keep my mum with me and give her the flexibility that she can stay here with me as long as she wants (which is not possible under visitors visa)
