Biometric data - where recorded

Hi All,

Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently helping a friend of mine who is Minister of Religion with his extension application under Tier 2 (Minister of Religion).

Our greatest difficulty concerns questions D1 through D3 of the application form. Question D1 reads: Have you been issued with a BRP?

Now, my friend remembers that when 3 years ago he first came to the UK under his present arrangements, his fingerprints were recognized by the system at the border, however, he has no recollection of even being issued a BRP, or even being given its number. If that makes any difference, he is a national of Australia and 3 years ago he applied from there.

So, has he ever been issued a BRP and if yes - is its number somewhere on his visa in his passport?

The second question concerns H1 - Have you ever had any Home Office or UK Border Agency reference number(s) assigned to
you?

Does this reference number covers some special-case scenario?

An enormous thanks for your help!

I think the BRP card (which will have its number too) is what determines one having been issued a BRP. Giving the fingerprints at the border is separate from this and is a immigration clearance procedure.

So it may be that if your friend doesnt recall ever having got a BRP card, then he doesnt have one.
