inviting family

Post by tier1-immigrant » Fri Mar 15, 2013 3:11 pm

Hi,

I would like to invite my sister's parent-in laws to visit UK.

Could anyone clarify the below queries.

1) UKBA defines the term "applicant's family" as

A “member of the applicant’s family” is any of the following persons
(a) the applicant’s spouse, father, mother, son, daughter, grandfather,
grandmother, grandson, granddaughter, brother, sister, uncle,
aunt, nephew, niece or first cousin; (NB: “first cousin” means, in
relation to a person, the son or daughter of his uncle or aunt);

Give above, can I invite my sister's parent-in laws under applicant's family category ? The above clause includes uncle and aunt, so can I invite my sister's parent in laws as my aunt and uncle ?

2) Can anyone point me fund maintenance if I were to fund their travel and stay in UK ?

Thanks for any information.
