ILR application - Dependent

Post by chanduk » Sat Mar 16, 2013 9:39 pm

Hi,
I live in UK with my wife and a son who was born in UK. We would be eligible to apply for ILR in April'13. I wanted to check is it possible not to apply for my son's ILR dependent application, along with my ILR and wife's ILR dependent application? Once we get the ILR approved, can I directly apply for my son's citizenship? Is this legal? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks and regards.

Yes, you do not need to include your son in your ILR application.

Thanks Alan and Vinni. Having gone through various other posts on the board, I now understand it is legal and acceptable to apply for my son's British passport directly (without applying for his ILR dependent along with me), just after my ILR is approved.

Can I request you to advise on my other post as well, if possible -
ILR Application - Name in passport

Thanks & regards.
