General Visitor Visa - Help with the forms and documents

Post by star2check » Mon Mar 18, 2013 9:22 am

I have gone through many posts to clarify my questions and I got many clarified through it. However there seems to be some questions specific to my circumstances on which I am still hanging. Some guidance would help me to complete the application process and I would really appreciate it.

I am sponsoring and appying for my parents General Visitor visa for one 1 month to UK. I am Tier2 ICT dependent and have around 8k GBP in my accounts and currently employed in London. My father has retired and gets around 19k INR pension in India monthly. My mother is housewife. I stay with my wife in 1BHK in UK. My queries are

1. My mother doesn't have any income and is completely supported by my father. Should I mention in application that my mother's income is zero and money she expenses is zero. Or I should mention my father gives her some money monthly which she expenses however I have no way to prove this. She also doesn't have property in her name.
2. My father has got some property in India however the property documents are in Local Language. My father has got valuation of the property from the Housing Board. We are thinking of submitting the valuation documents and photocopies of property documents. Do I need get the property documents translated in English which are huge or whatever we are doing is enough?
3. My father has got around 5.7 lacs INR in his bank of which I gave him 3 lacs. Should I show that he has got 5.7 in his accounts in his application or I should mention that he has got 2.7 lacs.
4. Is it advisable to show my wife's documents as well along with my documents?
5. Also if anybody sees any problem with any other things or suggestion. Please let me know.

All your responses would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion it is best to show that the persons coming to the UK for a holiday have a genuine reason to return home. Therefor submitting documents showing where they live is essential. Don't ever mention anything about staying for long peroids or settlement as a general visitor as the application can be refused. They could also be refused at point of entry.

Submit an travel plan, places that they want to visit whilst on holiday etc, They must have return tickets when they arrive in the UK. Essential for proving they are returning. Otherwise a general visitor visa is straight forward and easy.

A letter from you confirming their accommodation and food etc will be provided by you. This helps to prove that they don't need so much money whilst in the UK.
