For those of us with the visa and yet to set up our company

Post by niomi » Wed Mar 20, 2013 4:41 pm

So now that it is time for me to set up my business, does anyone have any tips/pointers to maximise my chances of receiving the extension in 3 years time?

I know I first follow the guidelines here: https://www.gov.uk/set-up-sole-trader

From what I understand, I will be director of the company. It is going to be a software development company with offshore developers.

Does anyone have any tips on where to set up the business, how much salary to pay myself once I've gotten clients, good solicitors to use within London, tax pointers, etc.?

Also does anyone have any experience acting as an agency for a non-UK company?

Maybe all of us who have now received our visas should discuss together what our next steps are :)
