What do you think of setting up a section where unanswered queries are put together after say a week or so so it would make it it easier to response?

It is already possibly to group unanswered posts by clicking'view unanswered posts' (click) they're grouped together for your convenience. Therefore, I don't think an additional forum is required. I hope this answers your question.
