TIER 2 VISA SETTLEMENT

HI Can some one help and advise.

I applied for Tier 2 visa on April, 29 2009. But due to confusion over my job title, my visa got rejected. I appealed against Home office decision and was successful, my visa was issued on 8th Sept 2009, but visa vailidity was calculated from the time my previous visa expired. Since than I have applied for my extension of Tier 2 visa working on same job role with same employer and got extension till 8th May 2015.

My query is now, what will be my qualifying period for settlement for Indefinite leave to remain, will that be calculated from 8th Sept 2009 or will that be from 29th april 2009 and what will be the qualifying period?

If my visa was issued from Sept, it should have 3 years validity and expired in Sept 2012 which was not the case and i had to apply in April 2012 and got extension for another 3 years.

Can some one assist or advise me best way forward?
