expert opinion required regarding name on statements

Post by adeel168 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 12:20 pm

Hi . I applied from PSW route and provided a joint account statement (50k) & maintenance statement. My name on statements is mentioned as my initial plus surname like on joint account its A Ahmed & S khan and on my maintenence statement it is A Ahmed, this is how most banks issue statements here. Is this acceptale by UKBA ?

Thanks in anticipation

Well, A.AHMED & S. KHAN could be Ali Ahmed and Sadiq Khan, Alan Ahmed and Samuel Khan, Aliyu Ahmed and saheed Khan...etc.
a middle initial would have helped a lot. My advise meet with your bank to change name to full name. and send a change of circumstance form and letter to UKBA stating the changes been made for clarity. Simple

Go to Barclays Canary Wharf Branch, If possible.

Ask them to give you a letter which has

1. Full Name
2. Address
3.Account No
4.Sort Code
5. Balance of account
6. Stamped it

And send it to Home office. Simple.

Thanks Mr. Shaukat. So u mean that the format of initial plus surname is not acceptable by UKBA as most of banks issue statements like this.

As I submitted my application in Oct 12. All funds are in my personal account and if UKBa finds any doubts wont they contact me or confirm from bank as it is original bank stateme t

Thanks in anticipation

Hi

Well. so far i do,nt have any issue like this i did,nt notice the name on bank statement,s of my clients but if Home Office wants to object for example in your case. If UKBA refuse your visa on this base that your statement does not have full name then
its not in Guideline that bank statement should have full name

second option is to refuse under section 320(7A) then UKBA has to prove that its someone else bank statement, just because it does not have full name visa can not be refused.

Any how just for safe side them a letter from bank.

Regards
Shaukat
