Self-suficient and Child Tax Credits

Post by ukstorm1 » Mon Mar 25, 2013 9:48 pm

Hello, everyone.
I'm non-EEA national hold RC.
My wife EEA-national dont qualified for permanent residence because of breaks in employment.
But we don't give up and decided to start qualifing period all over again. This time as self-suficient ( my wife is looking after 2 kids and i'm in employment). We got a quote for "comprehensive sickness insurance" for all of us £68/month (cover everything exept cancer and psyhiatric treatment).
But currently we're getting Child Tax Credit and Child Benefit. More likely Child TC will stop next tax year and significaly be reduced this year because of rise of my income.
Please, advice, what should we do?
Is getting those benefits can be consider as unreasonable burden?
Thanks

EEA national workers/job seekers/self employed worker can claim benefits but on state benefits self sufficiency cannot be claimed to become qualified person.
