TIER 4 STUDENT VISA

Post by FYK » Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:54 am

Hello,
I am all set to take admission in a reputed UK universit and do my masters from there. I have quite z few questions regarding my case, i shall be going pointwise and would highly appreciate if my questions are answered accordingly.
Thanks in advance for your replies and help.

My husbandhas done his MBA in Finance anc wznts to pursue his studies after the gap of zlmost 13 years. If he travels, he will have to take along me(his wife), our 2 kids,-under the age of 4.

1) Is it possible for him to get admission in a good university despite of thr 13 years gap?

2) he plans to do his masters, but also plans to do his phd after completing his mba, will he be granted visa again?

3) whats the job status for a double MBA gradutae?

4) if he stays there after completing his phd, will he be granted PR or ILR?

5) can our kids study at state school or do i have to get them admitted in a private school?

6) once he finishes his masters and doesnt continue with his phd, but i apply for a degree, wll my family once again be granted student dependant visa?

7)if he is going to UK for studies, he needs to do acadamic or general ielts?

8) can my husband work while being a full time student? If yes, then how many hours a week and how much will he be paid per hour?

9) what if he plans to do his own business after completeing his MBA, in UK.?

Thanks and regards,
FYK

1) Is it possible for him to get admission in a good university despite of thr 13 years gap?

Yes, it is possible. It depends upon university admission policy and criteria for the proposed course.

2) he plans to do his masters, but also plans to do his phd after completing his mba, will he be granted visa again?

Yes, he will be again granted visa for PhD if he properly studied and fullfil all requirments.

3) whats the job status for a double MBA gradutae?

No status. It's totally depends upon his own capabilities. But probably, he may end-up cutting onions in a hotel as helper OR cleaning in hospital OR driving taxi OR store-assistant in ASDA/TESCO/Sainsbury etc as 95% non-EU MBAs/ACCAs/ACMAs doing the same in UK.

4) if he stays there after completing his phd, will he be granted PR or ILR?

There is no direct provision for ILR in student visa. He need to spend some time in UK for ILR. Plus, its totally depends what policy is running by UKBA/UK Govt at that time when he will be completing his PhD. They change visa policies after every 3-6 months. But DO NOT expect anything favourable for non-EU.

5) can our kids study at state school or do i have to get them admitted in a private school?

Your choice.

6) once he finishes his masters and doesnt continue with his phd, but i apply for a degree, wll my family once again be granted student dependant visa?

Your dependents, will be your dependents as long as you are in UK and fulfil all requirements for that.

7)if he is going to UK for studies, he needs to do acadamic or general ielts?

Generally, both IELTS accepted by UK universities but Academic is better.

8) can my husband work while being a full time student? If yes, then how many hours a week and how much will he be paid per hour?

As your dependent, he can work. But if he want to study full time as well than ofcourse he needs to manage study and working hours accordingly.

9) what if he plans to do his own business after completeing his MBA, in UK.?

He need to get appropriate business visas according to what business he want to do.
