Gurus,
Looking for your expertise advice, my tier2 general BRP expires in May (valid from may 2010-may 2013) I don't have the printout of my current COS so i don't know the exact cos expiry date. Our new HR started recently and he says my cos was already expired in 2012 and he can't find my certificate on the system. it's really confusing me. I believe the allocated cos will be readily available for viewing and printing on the system any time.
my questions are,
Does BRP and allocated cos expires on the same day (+-14days)?
My current employer is applied for unrestricted allegations and waiting for the approval. My worry is am I legally working in the UK at present?
Thanks

The HR person you talked to may not be a Level 1 user with access to the SMS. Ask whoever the Level 1 user is to print out your CoS, it will have the work end date on it which is likely to be 14 days before your BRP expiry date.
Instructions on how to retrieve a CoS from the SMS are here:

Hi Manci,
Thanks for your reply. I did checked with my HR he is a level1 user of the system and he confirmed that we should have applied for allegations last year which our previous HR missed.
Did we need to apply for allegations every year to keep up the COS?
Our HR applied for unrestricted allegations last week, how long it will take for approval?

Did we need to apply for allegations every year to keep up the COS? Yes, unrestricted CoS allocations have to be applied for each year (April to April). Companies are sent several reminders to apply 2-3 months before April
Our HR applied for unrestricted allegations last week, how long it will take for approval? depends on UKBA workload
btw- did your HR print out your CoS and if so is the work end date 14 days before the BRP expiry date?

I am really worried now. I don't think my employer aware of it.
As I said before I was not issued the print out of my current cos, But i am sure my BRP expires on mid of may.
What should I do now? Am I eligible for extension now.
Still don't know whether we will get unrestricted allegations before than that?
Thanks for your advice

Can't the Level 1 user access the SMS and tell you what the work end date is in the CoS? This information must also be in your personnel file which UKBA can come and inspect any time - it is part of the record keeping duties of a sponsor.
You are not allowed to work beyond the work end date stated in the CoS unless you get an extension.

The level 1 user can't find the cos assigned for me, she contacted the homeoffice and they told the certificate expired on april 2012. What should I do now?
But how come my BRP expires on mid of May?
Am i still eligible for extension due to the fact my BRP expires on MAy 2013?
Thanks
