Schengen visa application withdrawal

Hello Everyone,

I recently submitted my application for Schengen visa at Denmark visa application centre. Soon after it my circumstances changed and I had to urgently cancel my trip. I submitted a form to vfsglobal that I want to withdraw my application and at the moment waiting for them to send me my passport back. But I am worried that it may affect my future applications to the Schengen states? And if my passport is going to return with some sort of stamp, which other consulates may consider to be a refusal?
Did anyone have any experience with withdrawing the applications and travelling to the Schengen states afterwards?

A withdrawal is not the same thing as a refusal.
