Missing documents!

I've been asked to submit the originals for my certificates and degrees by the 8th of April. When I had initially submitted my documents they were attested photocopies. I cant find any of my original documents!!
I have recently moved home and Im guessing that its misplaced somewhere.

If I am unable to submit the documents on time, does anyone know what would happen?
Is there a way to request more time for submission of documents?
