child visa(under 18)

Post by pasha44 » Fri Mar 29, 2013 12:25 am

Hi,
me and my wife are on ILR(received Nov/12-previously Tier 1).we have a child born in canada(my in laws are in canada).my child have a canadian passport, now we want to bring our child to uk.i was advised by someone(but i am not sure)that my child can come to UK on his canadian passport without any Visa and once he is in UK then we can apply for his ILR visa from within UK.I was wondering if it is true and will he be given entry at the Airport without any problem and once he is in the UK when can i apply for his ILR and what are the requirements for that.(by the way my child is 1 month old).
advice will be highly appreciated.
many thanks

Seems possible, as 299 is still applicable (A280(b)).
299 wrote:Indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom as the child of a parent, parents or a relative present and settled in the United Kingdom may be granted provided the Secretary of State is satisfied that each of the requirements of paragraph 298 is met.
