On ILR, But claiming benefits, & parents want to visit U

Post by mdakram » Fri Mar 29, 2013 10:11 pm

Dear Forum Board,
We (wife and myself), are currently holding ILR. I just finished my post-grad studies and searching for job at the moment. I'm on Job seekers Allowance as well as housing benefits. My parents want to visit as my wife is due for our first baby in June.
My question is, Will my status of being on Benefits affect the decision of my parents visa? They will apply it from India. They are looking forward to visit us for a max period of two months. What amount of bank balance should they provide as a minimum amount to qualify for a visa?

I have a good family friend of mine who has agreed to accommodate them in his house free of charge.

Please let me know what can be done to get a stronger application.

Thanks.
