Documents for Tier 2 Visa at Croydon

Post by thav » Sun Mar 31, 2013 9:26 pm

Hi guys,

I just completed my PhD and secured a postdoc job, therefore I am going to transfer from Tier 4 to Tier 2 visa. I would like to cross check the documents that I need to prepare for the Visa appointment which will be on the 11 th of April.

The documents that I plan to bring along are:

1. Passport
2. Bank Statement showing that I have more than GBP 900 for 90 days
3. Letter from University confirming my PhD
4. Cert of Sponsorship
5. My Bachelors degree certificate and transcripts
and
6. Application form

Is there anything else I should bring along?

Please advice!!

If you have any BRP card issued for your current visa, Carry that as well.

Hi TechUser,

I realized that, but since I was a student under Tier 4, there was no BRP card issued for me, that is fine right?

Furthermore, open questions to everyone, for the english requirement, I obtained a Bachelors degree from UK university, but through a affiliated program in my home country, which means I obtained the actual UK degree, but in my home country. Can I used it as a backup for my English requirement? Or should I submit a letter stating that I have completed my PhD more than 12 months to cover up my English requirements?

You need to submit original certificate of award for your degree taught in English to claim points for your English requirement.
