Request for Information on Schengen Visa applying from UK

Hi,

I am a student in UK who is from India and my current student visa expires on Jan 2014. I wish to visit Norway to see my brother. I am planning for Multiple entry Schengen Visa and please suggest which visa would be beneficial for me so that I can apply for jobs in Schengen countries until my schengen visa expires

* If I apply for Long term visa what would be the duration of Visa given.

Also could you let me know what I need to fill in the column - 'Travel Document ID Number'

Note that the type of visa (short term schengen visa vs. work permit to work in a specific Schengen country) you require would vary depending on the purpose of your visit. You should have a read through the information available on the Norway Embassy website and also have a think about where it is you intend to work, before you apply for a visa. I suspect you will find that there is no one-for-all (holiday and work in any schengen country) visa, as you seem to be suggesting. Wait for others more knowledgeable on the subject to comment.

In your study vacations you can certainly apply for schengen visit visa that will allow you to visit schengen area for visit purpose. However, for working purposes you need to possess work visa.
