New SOC codes, BRP number issue in one application

Post by superhulk » Wed Apr 03, 2013 12:03 pm

Hi,

I am caught in weird situation
My employer issued me COS on 26th March.
The SOC code in COS is perfect for me as per old rules but not as per new change in SOC code which will come into effect from 6th April 2013.
Now as per this link
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... orkers.pdf
The codes of practice are an integral part of the immigration system relating to migrant workers. These
codes supersede all previous codes and the new system applies to all Tier 2 applications made by
migrants using certificates of sponsorship assigned by sponsors on or after 6 April 2013, and all other
applications made by migrants where the date of application is on or after 6 April 2013.
Sensing there could be problem I tried applying online so that my date of application is before 6th April 2013 but online system is not accepting my BRP number. I have seen few threads on the forum where the BRP number has'X' in it. Same is the case with me where third digit is 'X' instead of number.

I have got PEO appointment on 29th April.
Do I need to request change in SOC from my employer?
Is there any way I can apply online using my current BRP number?
