tier1 dep staying at diff address than main applicant - extn

Post by neti » Wed Apr 03, 2013 12:06 pm

Hello,

I am in process of applying tier 1 extension. My address in bank statements, rent receipts and other documents in UK is different from my partner's address.

My partner works at different city around 5-6 hours away (by car/train etc), his National insurance is issued in that city, council tax etc is registered in his city (i m not on his council tax).

In Tier 1 dep - extn form there is one section for contact details and tick-box to confirm if partner stay in different address.

We meet every weekend, avail work-from-home facilities; use leaves/holidays etc to continue our part seperated lives.

will this be problem in extension of my partner as dependent on me staying in different city than main applicant ?
Can this be general ground for refusal ?

(We have marriage certificate which we used in first application and one joint bank account)

Please help me,
Thanks in Advance,
Neti

i m nt best person to answer this, but your phone records, chat records latest pics together, travel tickets (any holidays), if u ever went top your home country with your hubby then your tickets may be
something to prove your subsisting relationship

but gurus might have a different view !!

Hi thanks so much for response,

we are both in UK, and still married to each other. There is no change in situation. Only due to job location he has to stay 5 days away from me as daily commute is not possible.

Do you think this will be problem for his dependent visa extension.

Thanks for any help,

Please Experts/Senior members help me.

Warm Regards,
Neti

I'm not an immigration expert but this is a question that runs on my mind -

If you are cohabiting on the weekends, what stops you from having the bank statements and telephone bills on the other address?

Also, council tax doesn't increase based on residents, in fact it works in favour if you are student etc.

So unless you can very clearly justify I think it is a bit of trouble if the case worker is strict..

Sorry if I am sounding a bit negative..
