Absence from UK while waiting for first job in UK

Post by Ramana66 » Wed Apr 03, 2013 9:33 pm

Hi Forum members,

Need help and guidance on documents needed to support the absence from UK prior to first job in UK. My details are as below:

T1 (G) issued - 20th Aug 2008 (Valid until 20th Aug 2011)
Arrived in UK - 11th Oct 2008 (after 52 days)
Left UK on 18th Oct 2008 (for family visit)
Returned to UK on 23rd Nov 2008 (after 35 days absence)
Started first job on 24th Nov 2008

T1 (G) Extension issued on 1st Sept 2011 (gap due to postal application)
T1 (G) Valid until 1st Sept 2011

Based on above, I am planning to apply for PEO appointment on 25th July (27 days before completion of 5 year period).

Overall I have 242 days over 5 years (business and personal absences combined). When I spread them to 5 year periods counting back from my application date all of them are within 180 days per year and my longest absence was for 35 days.

My query is the absence of 35 days immediately after my first arrival in UK would be any issue? I will provide a personal letter for the absence with is for family visit and settle the things for my family as I was leaving my family behind (they have joined me in UK in April 2009).

Any advice and guidance is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ramana

Am of the opinion that a personal letter will be fine.Clearly there is no evidence to support your explanations aside the fact that you went back to properly provide for your family who were to join you later. Besides , your total absences are within the acceptable limit.

The fact that you started your first job the second day of your second arrival in UK could was good enough.

I beleive other superior comments from others particularly the seniors could be beneficial to you

Thank you

Personal letter would do.
Goodluck.

You will only know after 6th of April 2013 about the similar case..as for now..anything below 180 days is excepted without any rhyme or reason.
