residence requirement/physical presence (EEA route)

Hi,

I have a question regarding the requirement of physical presence five years before the naturalisation application is received. My partner has obtained PR via the EEA route so he has virtually no stamps in his passport which would show times of absences. What could he do to show that he was physically present at the reference date?

This falls with the wider proof of residence (absences, not just the first day of the 5 years). In general a passport is enough but for EEA nationals you can add other proof of residence (similar to what you provided for the PR application - P60s, tenancy agreement).

If you apply through NCS, some would ask for it, some won't. You won't get refused if you don't provide the evidence but the HO might write to you asking for some evidence if they are not convinced you meet the requirements.

You are required to list your absences in the last 5 years on the form so the HO can quickly see if you have been in the country 5 years back or not.

I was`t sure if I should send more evidence than passport and PR card, I think Jambo said passport should be enough. so I did`t put no more evidence and application was approved for me and my wife. I had my PR card since 2009 and my wife had her since 2011 plus the passport and it was enough. they maybe able to check dates because on entry UKBA scan passport/is card.
