Ilr- when to apply

Post by raj_in4u » Thu Apr 04, 2013 6:50 pm

Hi Everyone,
I am currently on tier 1 general visa:

Initial application:
Valid from: 24.07.08
Valid to: 22.7.11

Extension:
Valid from: 01.07.11
Valid to: 01.07.13

I went for my extension at peo on the 1.7.11 (as I couldn't get any dates closer to my visa expiry date) and so ended up having my visa extended from the same date instead of 23.7.11.
My concern now is whether I am eligible for ilr as I have not completed 5 yrs in this category and if I am what date should I schedule an appointment at peo.
All your replies will be greatly appreciated

If you can grab an appointment no more t Han 28days before 24.07.2013 and before your visa expires, then I think you can. Seniors can conform.

You can apply 28 days before of the ILR qualifying date.
Please donot send PM. Write in open forum to facilitate others too.

@alanwong
Thanks for replying mate. So, suppose if I apply on the 28.6.13 then it should be ok?
But according to the new rules of counting continuous period of stay.. Where you count your stay backwards from the date of your application i.e for my case will be 28.6.13 I have to go back to 27.6.08. But I have only got visa only from 24.7.08. Will I not be falling short of the period from 27.6.8 to 24.7.8?
I am so confused. Please suggest if my concerns are genuine or am I mixing two different rules !!!

So long as you first entered the UK within 3 months of your T1G EC (if you applied outside the UK) then you will be eligible to apply from upto 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your T1G EC date. http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd ... &ad=28&aw=
