Solihull ILR success on 4th April 2013 for my Wife

Post by niazacca » Fri Apr 05, 2013 4:17 pm

Hi

My wife got ILR (set M) yesterday successfully at Solihull. Very straight forward application. She was here since March 2003, as student dependent, then work permit, then tier 1 general then changed the flr m back in Jan 2012 when i got my ilr in late 2011. The only complication we had was that she had only spent a year on flr m spouse visa, and not the 24 months required under the old rules, but i used s287 d which says that you can apply for ilr as spouse if you have spent 2 yrs as PBS dependents which she had, and i even got confirmation from ukba via email this question was not raised at all by the casework .

So she used 1 year post spouse visa and one year from tier 1 hence applied set m. I was planning to do the postal application for her but then due to time delays i decided to do it ourself and result is instant. Our experience is :-

Got the ticket waited for 2 hours for our turn (which was difficult with two childerns but hey hoo worth it)

As soon as we saw the case worker she asked for application form and life in uk test and passports, within one minutes after seeing my and kids British passports she was relaxed and said you will get another card BRP like the one you got at present (We were surprised as this was early decision).

Then she did some paper work filing, and said i will do the check for 2 min and came back after 2 min and said all fine, i need your co hab which i gave her she picked only 4 docs and said yes all good to go please pay now she said hurry pls as after 3.30pm payments can,t go. (no question asked perhaps she knew what else i can ask someone who is already here for 10 yrs, she even knew that even spouse visa she has spent one year but applicant can amalgamate the previous year from tier 1 pbs time so no question asked about 2 yrs times spent), and she said pls go back out side for Bio mat and wait to collect your passports and confirmation letter to say its approved and card will come in 7 days.

We came out and did the bio after 5 min and after 10 min collected out paper work and left the building, it took about 45 for all the process once we were called in to see the case worker. I think if you go early morning then you may need to wait for few hours before you collect your docs.

Customer service was nice easy process so Solihull is recommended.

Good luck to all this forum is very useful pls update your stories in relevant sections and ask your friends to do so as well so other ppl can benefit.

Thanks
