Maintainence fund after Visa application

Post by enerlevelkk » Fri Apr 05, 2013 10:31 pm

my visa extension was submitted on 14th feb and i got my biometric letter on the 28th of feb. i submitted my biometric on the 1st of march and have been waiting ever since .... so far so good.

my question is , showing the funds for 28 days before your submission of application is sufficient ? or do you have to keep the funds in your account till you get the passport?
since i have done my submission and my biometric finger print, can i use the funds ? or do i still have to keep my balance above £2000?
i have asked this question many times, and everyone has given me different answers, some say they can verify the account balance anytime within your visa process while others say there are laws that the bank is not suppose to give your details to anyone ....
what further confuses me is that some times it takes 6-9 months for the visa to come in , so you have to keep the £2000 balance all the way till that time period? but according to the form, it says that the £2000 has to be available for you to spend so in theory if your visa comes after 3-6 months, the £2000 balance will go down right?

thanks

no you do not need to keep it.. you have bills to pay and other things to do which come under 'maintenance' and that is what you are showing that money for that you have enough money..

as far as i think they will see that you have held the money for 28 consecutive days and a recent statement that is not more than 30 days old from the date of application...

i hope this helps.
