Indian Passport Renewal -due to apply for BC

Hello everyone,

Can anyone kindly suggest what the best course of action would be in my situation?

I am due to apply for BC on 14th of May.

My current Indian passport expires on 22nd of May.

I have no plans to travel in the next 6 months.

My question is:

Is a valid Indian Passport necessary for the BC application to be considered ( it will still be valid at the time of application and for another 8 days after application )

Is a valid Indian Passport needed for attending BC Ceremony?

Is it needed application for British Passport?

Or needed for renunciation of Indian Citizenship after Naturalisation as BC?

The only reason why I do not want to have it renewed is the worry of losing the passport in the whole renewal process, I have traveled frequently in the past 3 years and my passport is really the only way I think which shows my travel history.

Answers to all of your questions is NO.

You have to surrender your passport soon after naturalisation so there is no point renewing it now except for any sudden emergency travels.
