How Early Can I Switch From Tier 4 To Tier 2

Hi, i am currently on a student visa and have recently got sponsored for a job. what i want to know is how early can i apply for the work permit? My tier 4 visa doesn't expire till next year january but i resume work for my new company in september.

if you have a CoS and satisfy the conditions for switching (see para 16 of the T2 policy guidance) then you can apply for leave to remain any time.
