ILR App-WP to Tier 2 worried about COS start date

Hello

I will be applying for ILR next month as a Tier 2 Migrant but I am bit worried because initially I was on Work Permit and then changed my employer twice under Tier 2 (General); and not sure whether start date on COS is the same as my employment start date with new employer.

I have all the documentation to support that I was continuously employed in the UK for last 5 years (P60's, P45's, payslips etc...) and there is no break in my employment; but the uncertainties about COS start dates and joining dates are making me nervous; is it true that employer holds the responsibility to notify UKBA about changes in start date (as a sponsor's note in sponsorship management system)?

Senior Members/Gurus please reply; please do let me know if anything I can do to clarify this?
