I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their help over the years. I have just received my British passport and I have found this forum invaluable: I arrived in the UK in December 2006 on a sponsored work permit, migrated to Tier 1 general work permit round about April 2009 before the requirement for a Master's degree came into effect - I found this forum invaluable in the application process! I applied for ILR in November 2011 and then applied for citizenship in November 2012. My application was successful and I had my citizenship ceremony in early February 2013. I then immediately applied for a British passport which arrived on Monday 8 April.
It has been a long journey but I am finally there and am British
