Tier 2 General SOC code question

Because my employer assigned the wrong soc code, we called up UKBA.
I only just sent my application a week ago and they said to write a letter to the Sheffield office stating the situation to request a change in the soc code.

Has anyone done this before? Did this work? Because I know a lot of people have been refused due the wrong soc code they have selected. But since we noticed this at very early stages of the application, UKBA advised us to write a letter to the case workers and that this should be fine.
