MyBaby born in UK(HSMP 2yrs+Tier1 General applying ILR Now)

Post by JAH » Thu Apr 11, 2013 1:38 pm

Dear members,

I am currently holding a 3 years Tier 1 General Visa previously was on 2years HSMP.
In early next year i will be applying ILR.

My 1st question
is about my 5 months old baby born in UK I didnt apply any dependent visa for baby.
I came to know that I can apply citizenship for baby if she is not going outside the UK using MN1 form once me and my mrs got our ILR. please Correct me if i am wrong

So what should be the information about baby I provide to HO when i will fill ILR application form?

My 2nd question is
Can my wife apply for ILR she is my dependent holding tier 1 General Dependent Visa. At the time of my ILR application she will complete 2 years and 4 months stay in UK as my Ter1 General dependent.
How much maintenance funds i should have for my child, wife and for myself?

Would be highly grateful for your help!!!!

Hi Jah,

You dont need to include your child in the application form at all if she was born in the UK and has never been outside the country. You can register her as a British citizen as soon as you get settled. Refer to the following link

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... /borninuk/

Your wife can apply as your dependent on the same form is she has been in the UK as your dependent for more than 2 years and was granted this leave before the 8 July 2012.There is no maintenance funds required as long as you meet the attributes requirement.

Other wise she will have to apply after completing 5 years and you will need to show that you earn enough to maintain both of yourselves without applying for any govt benefits
