Child born in uk

Post by Mateen1390 » Sat Apr 13, 2013 10:21 am

Hi,

I'm on tier 1 General visa which is going on expire in may 2013. I'm planning to extend my visa for two years and i will be eligible for ILR in 2015. I have a baby boy who was born in uk last year june 2012. We do not have any plans for travelling abroad.

My question is:

1. is it necessary to apply for my son's visa? as i was told by someone not to apply for my son's visa because we are not travelling and once we get ILR, my son would get british nationality.

Your advise please.

Thanks for the link.

I understood that it is not required to apply for child's visa if they born in UK unless they are travelling.

is there anyone out there who had similar situation like mine???

@nehagharge thanks for the post. I'm also thinking of not applying indian passport for my son. I think there is a fee when we handover indian passport at indian embassy. Still thinking whether to apply for the passport or not....
