Post by johnson.francis81 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 1:36 pm

I came to uk in october 2008 as work permit holder. changed to tier 2 two years ago becoming elligible for ilr in october this year.

my child was born in november 2012 and i have not applied for tier 2 depended for her yet. should i apply for tier 2 dependent for her before applying for ilr or can i apply for citizenship directly for them next year after i get my ilr this year ???

i am getting conflicting answers can someone advice ??

You can register for British citizenship using MN1 form due to eligibility of child under section 1(3). See MN1 guidance (just google it).

You can apply for their citizenship as soon as you have got your ILR approved. If you don't have any immediate travel plans then no need to apply for their dependent visa.
Thanks!
