ILR Approved at PEO Croydon 15/04/13- Tier 2

I would like to thank the Forum and various members who had shared their experience which enabled me to prepare for this journey towards my ILR.

I attended the appointment today at 11.00 am with my solicitor and the process seemed effortless despite minor hiccup where after we( me and my wife) did our biometrics and left the building to wait for the CW to call dus up back for the interview process, the system crashed and our data could not be retrieved by the CW to commence the process. They called us back after 2 hours and asked us to redo our biometrics at 3.00 p.m. At this point our number was still not on the consideration board located at the cafeteria area.
I was feeling the worst if the decision would not be made. However the CW assured that she would deal with our file asap. At 3.20, the CW came to us and handed the documents back and the approval letter and said all done, you will receive the BRP card in 7 days time. Thanked her and my solicitor and left the building.

I prepared a bankers draft of £2589.I did not pay the booking fees up front as I booked the appointment before 06 April.

The absences letter was not requested.

You are one of the guys that I really looked forward reading your advice as it helped me a lot. The documents submitted are as follows:

Current employers letter for SOC code,salary and required for employment
P60's since 2008 to 2012- for evidence employed for WP period
3 month's payslips & bank statements
Life in the UK test
Cohabitation Documents

Congratulations.... in your note you have written that absence letter was not required and in the document list also you have not mentioned the absence letter.. please confirm if the CW did not ask for it or you provided her and you didn't feel the need of it.. what were the number of days for which you were out from UK...

please share your experience related to absence letter...

Hi Guys,

Kevin - I went with the solicitor due to the difficulties in getting an appointment in Croydon. I wanted 15/4 because I receive my bank statements on 11th every month. I specified this to my Solicitor and he got the date for me.

GenX- I had 52 day absences for the whole 5 years, these were all for holidays during for my WP years,when I met my Solicitor for submission of the supporting documents, he said the absences letter for my application is not required, so this was not included in the submission. To satisfy myself I took one along but nothing was asked about this letter.

What is the math for calculating per hour wage rate?

e.g. 50,000 pounds Salary per annum based on 37.5 weekly hours.
How the wage rate per hour would be calculated in the above case?

50,000/52 = £ 961.53 per week
£961.53/37.5 = £25.64 per hour

Thanks, can you also confirm which salary you have mentioned in the set(o) form where it asks for SOC code and annual salary? Did the salary you mentioned there was your annual salary or the salary eligible for your SOC code?

Thanks so much..one more doubt...when you said holidays were they the paid annual leaves??? and if you did not provide any letter then what did you fill in the section6 in SET(0) form where it asks what evidence you are providing to explain absence from UK???

Yes they were paid annual leaves and some were during weekend and bank holiday trips. I did not tick any of the boxes there. I was not sure in the beginning but my solicitor insisted that this was not needed and i just went with it but I took along a copy just in case but true enough the CW did not ask for them.
