Bank Statements for workpermit holders

Post by kumarilr13 » Tue Apr 16, 2013 11:24 am

Hi All,

I managed to book appointment just now.
Form SET O.
Single applicant.
Work Permit holder
Single employer through out the period.
I booked for 24th May. I have a question regarding bank statement.
I only have one bank account that is in HSBC, my salary goes into this account. How recent should be my bank statement? and Do home office consider online statement which contain bank logo and my account details, but no address one it. I read some where the most recent statement shouldnt be more than 28days old, is that true?

Many Thanks,
Kumar.

no more than 31 days old. Usually last 3 months is OK, but some people take 12 months.

Your recent bank statement should not be older than 28 days. If you use online statement then each page should be stamped or be printed out on bank letter head.

Each month my statement is generated on 25th and delivered to my a week after. If it should not be older than 28 days then i am in trouble, Now can i ask my bank to change the statement date to 15th each month and probably by 24th may i will have 10day old statement. Do you this is if feasible?

from the set O guidance note:

Personal bank or building society statement: This
must be the most recent statement dated no earlier
than one calendar month before the date of the application.
The statement must clearly show your: name;
account number; the date of the statement; the financial
institution’s name and logo; and transactions by
the sponsor covering the period no earlier than one
calendar month before the date of the application.

Please don't forget that the bank statement that you request must show your salary being creited into your bank. When do you get paid?
This is the deciding factor because you will need your latest payslip and collobrating bank statement when you submit your application.

It is similiar for your payslip which should not be older than I calender month, in your case if your April payslip is dated 24/04 and your appointment is 24/05. then it is ok. Therefore if you request your bank on the 28 April, a current statement from 20th April to 28th April and receive your statement first week of May which is still not older than one calendar month as mention in the guidance notes. The CW is only interested on the date where your salary is credited into your bank . They are not interested on other transactions.
I did that for my Tier 2 ILR appliction yesterday and all went well.
