Hunting for UKBA Email Addresses....?

Post by wiggsy » Wed Apr 17, 2013 4:04 pm

OK, I've set my mission to find the email addresses of the new Director Generals of UKBA (or the new services respectively ;) )

We were all previously aware of UKBA's cheif exec Rob Whiteman's being Rob.Whiteman@Homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

However, the new named Director Generals So far, Ive been unsucessful... but have filed a FOI request...
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ ... _email_add

However,by searching I have found numerous homeoffice addresses:

So i thought i would share some of them:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary
I've found the following emails: Sheelagh.Warde2@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
this person Sheelagh Warde works in the Government Relations ... what she does exactly i dont know...
http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/sheelagh-warde/3/394/521

I propose we have a thread listing email addresses - where we found them, and the person they relate to... - in hopes this will help others...

(There are various messages across this forum already stating some email addresses...

European dept:
WhitemanRobSubmissions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk; EREC@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk; LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk; UKBACust1568@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk; < this got changed in an email from rob whitemans from UKBACustomerComplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk - whether it relates to my complaint alone, i dont know, but i would assume there have been far more than 1568 complaints to UKBA ...
Regional MP Account Managers throughout the UK host similar events. If you would like us to let you know when these events will be happening in your area, please email: Mpsevents@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ ... letter/new
Perhaps their newsletter will hold the information on new email addresses....

:)

= Does an MP need to respond to a FOI request? - I know that they must respond to a SAR... but what of FOI?

I also emailed Rob Whiteman the following Directly:
my name and address

FAO: Rob Whiteman / FOI Team
CC Nadhim Zahawi

Dear Sir(s),

Under the Terms of the FOI Act 2000, I would ask the following...

The email address for the new director generals - Sarah Rapson and David Wood. The large public interest for disclosing this information will far outweight the "private information" aspect...

I also outline that UKBA have on numerous occastions disclosed various Home Office email addresses - they are not private addresses but internal Home Office contact Details...

I draw attention to:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

Where you disclose the email address of: Sheelagh Ward - Sheelagh.Warde2@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

I would also expect that both of these Director General's are informed of my complaints (unless they are infact below Rob Whiteman in which case there will be no need for this.)

Yours
Mr W B P

ahhh here we go, not the MP but house of parliment :)
Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the House of Lords are not public authorities under the Freedom of Information Act or the Environmental Information Regulations and are not obliged to respond to requests under these laws.

MPs are subject to the Data Protection Act and requests for your own personal data that is held by an MP should be sent directly to that MP and not to the House of Commons.

Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA)

The House of Commons and the House of Lords are required under the Freedom of Information Act to make information that they hold available to the public.
1.Information must be made available proactively via publication schemes that have been approved by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
2.Anyone is entitled to make a request for access to information held by either House that is not already publicly available. The requested information must be disclosed unless an exemption applies.

Changes to the UKBA Bulgarian/Romanian nationals helpline
From 1 June 2012, the UK Border Agency no longer take telephone enquiries regarding Bulgarian and Romanian nationals. Should you have a query, you must now use their new email service.

■For advice before you apply please email:
bulrom@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
■If you have already applied please email:
barcenqueries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk
doesnt this constitute as discrimination, based on nationality, and therefore breach the equality act ???? - other EEA nationals "can" (not with much luck mind) phone up...

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... we-expect/

~What they expect from the customer...

Most company's post what a customer can expect from the company! LOL...

I like:
When you contact or communicate with us (face to face, by phone, by letter or online), our staff will be polite to you and will expect the same from you. We will not tolerate:
abusive, intimidating or threatening behaviour;
swearing and offensive language;
conduct amounting to harassment based on a person's actual or perceived gender, age, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or disability;
shouting;
insults about our procedures, our staff or other people; or
attempts to use pressure or bribery to get information.
Well, the FOI act doesnt work, so pressure is all we have... - that pressue comes from http://ICO.gov.uk once they fail to respond within 20 working days.

Individuals should always access the official
UK Border Agency website by typing:
www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk. Official UK
government websites will have a .gov.uk at the
end of their address. When e-mailing the agency, individuals should also ensure that the e-mail address is genuine. The following are examples
of what addresses would expected when receiving
or sending an email to the agency:
name.surname@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk or
name.surname@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.
perhaps these two Sarah and David just havent had their email addresses created yet...
