Dates confusion!

Hi there,

I hope you can help me with this.

I am due to apply for ilr because my ancestral visa expires on the 21st July. However I only came into the country on the 14th August, what confuses me is exactly when is my window to apply?

From what I understand it has to be within the 28 days before I am eligable but before my visa expires which gives me the 19th July only. But I have also been told there is a 6 week leeway which means I can apply within the 28 days before my visa expires?

Please help!
