ILR Employer ref letter : Query on SOC code

I am on Tier-2 visa with CoS issued before 6-April.
I am due to complete 5 years by 30-May; so preparing for ILR.
As advised in
http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=76413 --- I need to prepare the letter with appropriate SoC code.

In my situation ( which will be applicable to many candidates I guess) which SoC code should be reflected in employers letter?

The old one that was applicable to me while CoS was issued is not the closest one as per the new list. Should I ask my employer to put the closest one instead in the letter as my salary is anyway above that code?

Please advise asap. Any experiences on recent ILR applications will be helpful in this regard.
