6 Letters or other documents

Post by Emrah » Fri Apr 19, 2013 11:39 am

Hi Guys

Im just preparing that 6 letters Home Office is asking from couples. They want us to spread over whole 2 years.

I need to start from June 2011 and finish June 2013. Are those letters must be every 4 months gap from each other? For example;

Letter 1 June 2011
Letter 2 October 2011
Letter 3 February 2012

or any time in 2 years?

Yes, spread evenly over the 2 year period is good. The letters must be official and it is the date on the letter/statement that is important. The letters can be jointly addressed or one letter each in your own name.

The correspondence needn't be official, as long as it shows date, name and address with postcode.
If you only have proof of address in single names, submit 6 from each of you in single names. i.e 12 in total.
They must come from at least 3 different sources (categories).

I should clarify what I mean by official - bank statements, HMRC letters, land line statements, credit card statements etc.... If you send unsolicited letters they won't be accepted for set(m) nor will mobile phone statements.

how about if I cant spread it evenly ? cos I spent 2 and half hours over the letters and documents cant find many in joint names even in our names seperately and most of letters are from bank.

You need to find a few more. A legal advisor will tell you that they'll actually even accept junk mail if it shows your name + address and post code and dated. i.e mail order correspondence etc. Is your wife registered at the doctor's surgery? Any medical letters?
Do you have anything more recent than March 2013?

we have got letters from doctors but the dates are not in last 2 years.
I might get something in 1 and half month time but not too sure if I dont get it I will send the bank statements. cos I have got already 3 different sources.

does the letters have to be in same month if the letters are not in our both names i.e

I have got a letter for december 2011 my wife has got a letter for november 2011.

Also I have checked the SET M guide PDF file I couldnt see anything about letters it doesnt say it has to be EVENLY anywhere but I would like to make sure.

The case workers don't like to see big gaps. They prefer to see continuity.

cool I will try to make them as close as possible. but as I said I couldnt find many letters on our both names or single names. nowadays everything is done online if you wanna get letter they charge you £1.50 from Virgin Media.

I have got another 2 questions if you can help I will be very pleased.

First one I have had 7 points and £180 fine from 2005 december points are deleted now. on my personal history I have written them all the time Im confused with the new layout. Do I have to write them again or not?

Also Do I need to send a pre-paid envelop with my application?
It says "send the application by prepaid post to UK
Border Agency or make it in person at a Public
Enquiry Office."

1. For UKBA to send your Documents back, securely you could send a Pre-Paid Envelope.I.e:- If you are making a Postal Application.
2. You could ask your G.P to confirm that both you and your wife has been staying in the same address,if more than 2 years
3.Children's Birth Certificate any?

1- I have made all my visa applications by post I never used to send pre-paid envelope before. Is it changed now? If I dont send them pre-paid envelope are they gonna use one of the cheap postage?

2- We lived in 2 different address in last 2 years. Our GP is the same GP but every single time we go there we see someone else not the same person all the time.

3- We have got a child and birth certificate but which dated in 2010 which is not useful for me.

Are you serious? do they know how much we care about these things? paying £1051 and sending me my documents by 2nd class mail which is not even guaranteed to come to my house. that's ridiculous. I remember I had to sign to get the documents from the postman last 2 times. Applications are getting more expensive more harder and service is getting worse. Unbelievable.

That's why you should send a self addressed stamped envelope to get your documents back safely. By Special Delivery better.Only do this if you can afford to do. Some times Documents may be lost in post or misplaced at UKBA.

If you only have proof of address in single names, submit 6 from each of you in single names. i.e 12 in total.
They must come from at least 3 different sources (categories).
