switching from tier 2 ict to tier 2 general

hi,

i am currently in tier 2 ict visa from aug 2011.. my company is trying to switch me to tier 2 general. it seems i cant switch into general from uk.. can i apply immediately once I go back to India or any cooling period applicable

12 Month cooling off period would apply definitely apply. Not sure if you can switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2G for the same company... others might have thoughts on this one.

even if it is for a different type of tier 2.. even if a different company recruits me?? is there a workaround

The only 'workaround' is by extending your current visa, but this does not lead to ILR. I am afraid the rules have been redesigned specifically so that it is very difficult to get ILR from T2ICT.

Do you have any dependents? They would be eligible to apply for Tier 2 from outside the UK and then you could become their dependent....
