FLR(M)

I got my ilr under 10years route last month same time i apply FLR(M) for my wife and son because they visa expiry same time. Now HO need my finance section to fill but that my lawyer say leave that section is not apply for you because my wife living here last 7 years. Please advise me on this issue i need fullfill financial requiment or not.
