How can a ICT tier 2 dependent get a Tier 2 G

Hi, I came to UK on short term Tier 2 ICT and stayed on that for 2 years till October 2012.
Then I got it switched to a dependent on my husband since December 2012, I have been working since then. This company can grant me Tier 2 General, which I am interested in getting converted. Can i get that done next year? Will I have to go to India to file that?
The HR was was saying that they will have to show that for 28 days I was back in India and not working for them to show that they conducted some interviews here. for those 28 days they will transfer my location to India. Do I really have to go back to India, can I not apply from here?

Please let me know, I am really not sure if I can get a Tier 2 G when I am presently a Tier 2 ICT dependent?

You can. No cooling off period would apply.

You must apply for entry clearance (from outside the UK). http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... igibility/
Very bottom of that page - Can you switch into Tier 2?

Only tier 4 Depandant can switch to tier 2 general.
Pl tell me what is ur current visa status.

True for switching within country. However, is there anything prohibiting them to apply for entry clearance?
