will divorce have any effect on my application?

Post by Mehmoud » Mon Apr 22, 2013 3:50 pm

Hi everyone.
I Mehmoud have applied for naturalization as a spouse of a BC on February 2013 and still waiting for a outcome decision.
My 2 question are;
1. if I file a divorce now, will this have any impact on my BC application?
Any valuable advice is most appreciated.
2.is this unusual for me to be still waiting from Feb 2013? everyone have got their approval already?
Thanks

1. No you can apply for naturalisation as a spouse until the decree absolute (usually takes 6 months from decree nisi) has been given. You applied when you were married.

2. Should be a decision soon.
