switching from spouse to indifinite leave to remain

Post by bashar » Mon Apr 22, 2013 10:23 pm

Hi,
I have been on Tier2 dependent visa for 4 and a half years. And as my husband complete a 10 year qualification period for settlement , as such he applied for permanent residency as this will remove work restrictions. I have now switched to Spouse Visa and I have two questions

1- Can I apply for permanent residency once on spouse visa without waiting two years? I mean we have been married and in the UK for 7 years so far (as student dependent, tier 2 dependent, and now spouse), (note I would have obtained my permanent residency if we waited another 6 months)
2- if not when would I become a home student.
