2013 Applications 10 Year ILR Waiting Times

Hi all, I haven't seen any posts from 2013 applicants yet so I thought I'd get the ball rolling. This is my time line at the moment:

Application date: 08/01/2013
Acknowledgement: 14/01/2013
Biometric invite: 01/02/2013 (received 04/02)
Biometric done: 05/02/2013
ILR Approved: Waiting
BRP and passport: Waiting

So basically I've now been waiting 100 days since acknowledgement. I was really excited about how quickly my acknowledgement and biometrics invite came but now I'm starting to feel a little down. Knowing how long most people waited on here is not at all reassuring but I'm staying positive and hoping for the best. I sprint to the door every time the bell rings!

My case is pretty simple I've been in and out since I was a baby but here more permanently from 2002 when I was 15. Student visa for 9 years then PSW for 2 which is still running.

I sent an FOI request about waiting times so far from January but I'm still waiting for a response. It would be great to hear from anyone else who applied around the time I did.

1) Which documents did you send?
Our kid should send her application in July, so we are checking the documents to make everything as quickly as possible.
2) How many days during the last year you were out of the UK? I am asking because she goes relulaly to France now to have classes and pass the exams.
3) Is it 180 days rule relevant for 10 years route?

The information of how much time you are permitted outside of the country is available here on page 14:

Basically you are allowed 540 days (18 months) out of the country in total. Also you can't be away for a single period of more than 180 days during the 10 years.

I sent a lot of documents, I probably went overboard to be honest! I sent letters from my boarding school, universities, workplaces and bank spread through from 2002 till now. I sent information on my home, car, national insurance, several ID cards, school results, transcripts, awards, certificates and bills. Of course I also sent all my passports and current BRP along with a cover letter and the set o... and I sent everything together in a beautifully presented package to cheer up any grumpy overworked case worker lol

I travel a lot and had many missing entry stamps in my passport so I wanted it to be very clear that I have been living here full time.

I guess what you send depends on your particular situation but do make sure you carefully count all the days your child has been absent and add them up.

we are planning to send all invoices and bank transaction confirmations for the boarding school to show that she was absent for vacations. Than the letters from the school confirming that she was accepted science 2003, uni letters and payments.
This year she has got one year studying EU law, but it is a part of the uni course, so we'll get this letter that it is an obligatory part to get a degree. What I worry (maybe too much) that now she'll have exams and will be in France practically for 2 months. Before she visited us regularly.

Hi Z18 I was just wondering how exactly you involved your MP as I am considering doing the same but I thought it would be too early. Did you just send a letter? Did they respond and how?

i have wrote to my mp aswell..no response ..its been like two weeks and she belongs to labour..dont think she will do much as there is a very bad talk about her on the web
people applied in september are getting theirs now..probably we have to wait till may end based on that

I got response from my MP ( Labour and co-operative party) within a week of writing to him. He replied thanks for writing to me and feel sorry for your delay in application(3 months delay) and i will write to UKBa on behalf of you and write to you back once i get reply from UKBA, many thanks. bye

I hope you guys know that UKBA takes 3-6 months for a decision on 10-year ILR applications

Living in this country 10 years and more, browsing immigration rules and policies all the time and reading threads on this forum and am pretty sure that it will take 3-6 months.

But paying this hefty fees on application i personally cant wait for 6 months or more.

If that is the fate i cant do anything, but i feel its nothing wrong to start the pressuring process on UKBA on my application.

Living in this country 10 years and more, browsing immigration rules and policies all the time and reading threads on this forum and am pretty sure that it will take 3-6 months.

But paying this hefty fees on application i personally cant wait for 6 months or more.

If that is the fate i cant do anything, but i feel its nothing wrong to start the pressuring process on UKBA on my application.

Well it's now going on 17 weeks for me since sent in application and not a peep after biometrics.

I called UKBA the other day and after a long and pricey time on hold I spoke to a woman. I asked if my case had been allocated to a case worker but she said they have no way of knowing that.

She didn't take my reference number but asked what month I had sent in my application. When I said January she said to me that their records indicate September applications are still being processed. We were then cut off but I hope she didn't mean they haven't started on applications after September yet!!!

I will call again soon to see if I get a similar answer. Meanwhile my FOI request has not received a response. The last time I made one the response was quite rapid so I'm not sure what the hold up is with this

Next step MP. I'm going to complain in particular about the senseless policy of retaining peoples passports and biometric card for months whilst deciding cases!

Hi Jagwah,

COngratulations on your ILR. I would be grateful if you caould please help me. I came to the U.K. in August 2006. 4 years Student visa+2 years PSW+2 years Tier 2. I will be able to apply for my ILR in July 2016.

I am aware that we must not spend 18 months outside the u.k. which I haven't. The only question I have is what does UKBA mean by "6 months outside the U.K. at any one period"?

I first went to my home country in September 2010 and I spent 2 months and I came back to the U.K. for 5 weeks and had to go back again coz my student visa run out and I had to stay 5 months at this time. I came back to the U.K. in 2011 and since then I have not left the U.K. for more than 4 weeks.

Can you please tell me if my continuous residence has been broken?

Also, in 2007 I had to apply for an extension to my student visa and the payment was taken by home office but I was sent to get a document from college. But I was given the student visa 20 days after the xpiry of my previous visa.

Is this going to be against my case then?

I hope that you can help me so that I can start planning for the future.

could you please update us on your wife's FLR(M) application, as from your post it shows you posted you wife's FLR(M) when you received acknowledgement letter from Home Office for you ILR......what happend to your wife's application? Pleas update us with this information. Thank you
